These terms apply to the UnitProof app for Shopify. Installing the app means accepting them.

What the app does

UnitProof reads a store's catalog, reports which product variants have no unit price measurement or an incomplete one, proposes a measurement from the data already in the store, and writes it to Shopify's own variant fields in bulk when a merchant asks it to. Every bulk change is previewed before it runs and can be reversed for 30 days afterwards.

Not legal advice

UnitProof is a product data and display tool, not legal advice. You are responsible for determining which products require unit pricing and for the accuracy of the measurement data you provide.

Germany's Preisangabenverordnung and the equivalent rules elsewhere in the EU require a base price for goods sold by weight, volume, length or area — and they contain exceptions. UnitProof does not decide whether a particular product falls inside or outside those rules, does not claim to make a store compliant, and deliberately has no feature that says it does. Which of your products need a unit price, and whether the figures shown are correct, is your decision. If you are unsure, take legal advice before relying on what the app displays.

Your responsibilities

• reviewing the preview before confirming a change — it exists so that no bulk write is a surprise;
• deciding which products require a unit price, and checking that the quantities the app proposes match what is actually in the package;
• keeping your own Shopify account secure.

Availability

The app is provided as it is, without a guaranteed level of availability. It depends on the Shopify Admin API, and Shopify's rate limits mean a large bulk change can take several minutes to complete. We do our best to keep it working and to fix faults promptly.

How a unit price appears to a shopper is decided by your theme. Shopify renders unit prices natively in Online Store 2.0 themes; older or heavily customised themes may not, and we cannot guarantee the result in a theme we have not seen.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the fees you paid for it in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for regulatory penalties, warnings, lost sales or pricing disputes arising from the measurement data you chose to apply.

Billing and cancellation

Paid plans are billed by Shopify through your Shopify invoice, and can be cancelled at any time from your Shopify admin. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period. The free plan needs no payment method.

Undoing a change is never restricted by your plan, your catalog size or an expired trial. If the app helped you make a change, it will help you reverse it.

Ending the agreement

Uninstall the app and these terms end. What happens to your data is described in the privacy policy. Measurements already written to Shopify stay in your store — they are your product data, not ours. We may suspend an installation that is being used to abuse the Shopify API or to harm other merchants.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the app after that means accepting the update.
